Dr Michael E. Martin is a Board-Certified in adult and pediatric allergy and clinical immunology. Dr Martin has nine years of medical study included allergy training at the University of Colorado/National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine, the nation's leading center for allergy and asthma research and training.
Dr Martin has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of Allergic Rhinitis, Sinus Problems, Asthma, Food Allergy, Bee Sting Allergy, Anaphylaxis, and other allergic diseases.
The symptoms of allergic rhinitis - commonly called "hay fever"- include sneezing, runny nose nasal congestion, and itching of nose and throat.The discharge from allergic rhinitis is usually clear and watery. Complications associated with allergic rhinitis include sinus and ear infection, allergic eye symptoms, fatigue, and increased risk for asthma.

Asthma occurs when the linings of airways become inflamed and swollen and muscle spasms constrict airflow to the lungs. An "asthma attack" is characterized by labored or restricted breathing, a tight feeling in the chest, coughing and wheezing. Dr. Michael E. Martin received his B.S. from the U.S. Air Force Academy and his Medical Doctor Degree from the University of Colorado Medical School. He then did an internship and residency at the David Grant USAF Medical Center at Travis AFB, California.
Dr. Martin served in the U.S. Air Force where he holds the rank of Colonel. His positions included Chief of Professional Services and pediatrics at the USAF clinic in Aviano, Italy, Allergy Consultant to the USAF surgeon general, and Chief of the allergy and Immunology department and Allergy Fellowship Program director at Wilford Hall USAF medical center. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and has authored several published papers on asthma, allergic rhinitis, and food allergy. Dr. Martin was an assistant clinical professor at the University of California Medical Center in San Francisco and was on the Board of Directors for the American Lung Association of California, Redwood Empire branch where he served as a president for two years. Also, for his work with the Sonoma County Asthma Coalition he was selected as a Public Health Champion by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors and the Sonoma County Medical Association. Dr. Martin has been happily married for 43 years, and loves being dad and bapa. He also enjoys travel, theater, sports and geo caching.
